Flocks

Our Flock groups meet on alternate Sunday evenings (1st and 3rd or 2nd and 4th). We have been looking at "Stories and Pictures of the Gospel." Looking particularly at the way Jesus interacted with sinners. Please feel free to pick a flock or group and begin attending. Each flock group is a little different, but all include food and fellowship in times of prayer and a study of the Word.
1st and 3rd Sunday Evenings:
5:00 p.m. Sycamore Flock will be meeting at the Wester’s home, 319 S. California St. in Sycamore.
5:00 p.m. Devonair Farms Flock will be meeting at the Challgren’s home, 423 Horizon Lane in DeKalb.
2nd and 4th Sunday Evenings:
5:00 p.m. Knoll’s North Flock will be meeting at the Leston’s home, 1405 Schade Lane in DeKalb.
5:30 p.m. Kensington Pointe Flock will be meeting at the Hudson’s home, 639 Yorkshire Dr. in DeKalb.

Children's Ministries

We have an abundance of children, nearly out-numbering the adults. A children's Sunday School is available during the Sunday morning service for ages 3-6th grade. Nursery care is available for infants and toddlers who are not old enough to participate in Sunday School.

Youth Group

Bible study and activities for junior and senior high school students every other Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.

College Ministries

College students from Northern Illinois University and Kishwaukee College enjoy free food on various selected Sunday afternoons. We value getting students plugged into christian homes while they're away from their own homes. There are various college activities throughout the year.

Ladies Ministries

The purpose of Ladies Ministries at KBC is to encourage the women of this church to pursue a deeper love with God and a greater love for each other.

Ladies Bible Studies
Throughout the year, we offer a variety of small group studies. We usually try to offer at least one study during the daytime, and another during the evening; studies typically meet twice a month. These times are designed to help you grow in your relationship with Christ alongside some of the other ladies of the church.

Summer Book Club
We try to select a book that will both stretch us and encourage us as we walk with God. We typically meet once a month during the summer to discuss what we’ve read and what we’ve learned from it.

Coffeehouse Nites
These are (primarily) unstructured evenings to gather with other women and chat over a cup of coffee (or tea, or cider, or water . . .). These will provide relaxed times to catch up with old friends and make new ones.

Ladies Seminars
These special Friday night seminars are taught (usually twice a year) by pastor Steve Leston. Though the format varies, Steve usually teaches on a particular topic, then we further explore that topic through small group discussions, activities, and large group discussion.

Ladies Retreat
Once a year, we offer a retreat--a special time to be challenged and refreshed spiritually, and to build deeper and stronger relationships with others. Typically, we alternate doing an overnight retreat with a one-day event like a breakfast, a lunch, a tea, or an all-day retreat.

If you’re interested in finding out more about any of the above programs, feel free to contact Amber Hudson at 758-6332 or araehudson@arae.com.

Men's Equippers

Men's Equippers meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. This is a time for men, old and young, to hear the preaching of God's word on various passages and topics. We also have a weekend-long Men's Exposition Conference twice a year. An important goal of ours is to train men in the scriptures.
